Who
Script Summer is intended for CS & engineering undergraduate or graduate students willing to drop their current summer engagements or don’t yet have them.
The single requirement (outside of being technical) is that you have a burning idea you want to see in the world and are willing to drop everything to build with earnest for 12 intense weeks.

What
We’re looking to kickstart solutions to the biggest problems in the world. We primarily are focused on software and internet-based solutions so will not back hardware or biology ideas. For more relevant interest areas, see our 2025 request for startups.

Where
We prefer if you’re based in SF for the summer but open to remote, ideally in the US to align with timezones. But we’re open to hearing from all corners of the world.
When
Approximately June 1st to August 31st, 90 days in total (or commencing when you complete spring semester).
Terms
$20k per founder if you move to SF. $10k if you’re building remotely.
Script doesn’t take any equity for the $20k check. We instead are granted warrants that allow us to invest up to $300k in your next round at a $5M post money valuation. We decide on the additional investment at the end of the summer to give you 12-18 months to take the next step forward.
Format
This is meant to be an intense exploration of your biggest ideas and obsessions.
We hold weekly office hours with Script Partners and monthly retrospectives and group demos. At the end of 90 days, we decide whether to make the additional $300k investment.
Application
To apply please email summer@script.capital with the subject “Script Summer Application” and include the following information:
- Current school
- Current major
- What problem in the world are you obsessed with solving and why is it so important? (limit to 500 words max)
- What ideas do you have to go about solving this problem?
- What core technologies are on the horizon that will unlock this problem?
- Project demo (if applicable)
- Links to shit you’ve created (really, anything) if you don’t have a demo (music, writing, sculptures, religions founded, ships built, whatever)
- Co-founder information (if applicable)
- Start date (should have at least 90-days free to pursue)
FAQs
Do I need to be full time?
Yes, this is intended to be your full-time endeavor for the summer so you’ll need to quit any other commitments.
Do I need to move to SF?
Moving to SF isn’t required but we highly recommend it. We think you are 2-3x more likely to raise a round and move to the next step if you move to SF for the summer. The check is also bigger ($20k vs $10k) if you move to SF.
Do I need to set up a formal company?
No, you do not need to set up a company before or during the summer program.
